About the founder
Chris directed No Way Out (Huis Clos), The Glass Menagerie and Oleanna in his home county of Lincolnshire, The Taming of the Shrew, What the Butler Saw and Habeas Corpus in Leeds, and in Cambridge has directed a double bill of Overruled and A Phoenix Too Frequent at the Corpus Playroom and The Two Gentlemen of Verona, Playhouse Creatures, As You Like It at the ADC Theatre.
As an actor at the ADC Theatre in Cambridge Chris has played Angelo in Measure for Measure, the title role in Nicholas Nickleby, Kit Nubbles in The Old Curiosity Shop, Sir Benjamin Backbite in The School for Scandal and Ezra Chater in Arcadia. He appears in the lead role in the film Hanging in There (www.hangingintheremovie.co.uk). Roles elsewhere include title roles in Romeo and Juliet, The Picture of Dorian Gray and Hamlet, Jack in The Importance of Being Earnest, Brindsley in Black Comedy, Les in Bouncers (which went to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2003), Mortimer in Arsenic and Old Lace, Paul in Barefoot in the Park, Lysander in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Elyot in Private Lives, Tom in The Glass Menagerie and The Marquis de Sade in Marat/Sade. Chris is also a playwright, and authored three of Historyonics’ previous productions, The History of Britain (2000 Years in 2 Hours!), A Muse’s Will and Broken Soldier. |
